Thank you for choosing Beacora (the "App"). Beacora is a family and friends location-sharing app that lets people you invite see each other's real-time location on a map, keep saved places, and record personal activities.
We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it is shared, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account & Profile Data
To set up and run your circle, we collect:
- A unique user ID automatically generated by the App.
- Profile details you choose to provide, such as your display name, avatar.
- Invitation codes used to connect you with the members you add or join.
1.2 Location Data
Beacora's core feature is location sharing. When you grant location permission, we collect your device's precise geographic location so it can be shown to the members in your circle.
- Location is used only while you are using the App (When In Use). We do not request background or always-on location access in this version.
- We keep a short-term location history (up to the most recent 7 days) so members can see recent movement. Older location points are discarded.
- You can turn off sharing at any time using in-app Stealth Mode, or revoke location permission entirely through your device settings.
1.3 Activity Data
Activities and calendar entries you create are stored only on your local device and are not uploaded to our servers or visible to other members.
1.4 Device & Usage Data
- Device information such as device model, operating system version, and app version.
- Diagnostic and usage data, such as which features are used and crash reports, to help us keep the App stable and improve it.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide core features: showing member locations on the map, managing your circle and invitations, saving places, and keeping your 24-hour location history.
- To maintain and improve the App: analyzing usage and diagnosing crashes so we can fix issues and improve the experience.
- To communicate with you: sending important service notices, security alerts, or changes to our terms.
3. Location Sharing & Your Controls
Location sharing is the purpose of the App, so sharing your location exposes your position to the members you have connected with. You are always in control:
- Location is shared only with members you have added or accepted into your circle.
- Turn on Stealth Mode to stop sharing your live location while keeping your account active.
- Revoke location permission at any time through your device's system settings. If you do, location-based features will stop working.
Please be mindful of who you invite. Only connect with people you trust with your location.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only:
- With the members of your circle, as part of the location-sharing feature you enabled.
- With service providers who process data on our behalf (see Third-Party Services below).
- When required by law or to respond to valid requests by public authorities.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, which may process limited data as described below. (SDKs listed here should match the App's actual integration.)
5.1 Map & Location Services
The App uses the map and location services provided by your device's operating system (Apple Maps / Core Location) to display the map and determine location. Your use of these services is subject to the provider's own privacy terms.
5.2 Firebase Crashlytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics, a crash-reporting service provided by Google LLC, to detect and fix stability issues. It may collect crash logs and stack traces, device model and OS version, app version, and an anonymous internal identifier not linked to your name, email, or phone number. This data is processed by Google under its Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Data Security
We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as needed to provide the App and for the purposes described here. Location history is limited to the most recent 7 days. When data is no longer needed, or when you delete your account, we securely delete or anonymize it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data or your account.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.

9. Children's Privacy
Beacora is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it. Where a child uses the App within a family circle, a parent or guardian is responsible for supervising that use.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
