Introduction
Welcome to Beacora.
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Beacora app and related services. By downloading, accessing, or using Beacora, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Beacora.
About Beacora
Beacora is a location-sharing app for families and close friends. It lets people you invite into your circle see each other's real-time location on a map, connect through invitation codes, save places, and keep personal activity records.
In this version:
- real-time location sharing requires you to grant location permission (When In Use);
- you can pause sharing at any time using Stealth Mode;
- activity and calendar data is stored only on your local device;
- location sharing works only among members you have connected with.
Eligibility
You may use Beacora only if you are legally permitted to do so under the laws of your jurisdiction. If you are under the age required by applicable law, you may use Beacora only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
Your Circle & Consent to Share
Beacora shares your location only with members you add or accept into your circle using an invitation code. By connecting with a member, you consent to sharing your real-time location with them while location sharing is active.
- Only invite and accept people you trust with your location.
- If you add someone under your care (such as a child), you are responsible for having the right to do so and for supervising that use.
Location Permission
Beacora's core functionality depends on your device location. To share your location you must grant location permission. If you do not grant permission, or you enable Stealth Mode, your live location will not be shared and some features will be unavailable. You can change location permission at any time in your device settings.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Beacora only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- use Beacora to stalk, harass, monitor, or harm any person without their knowledge and consent;
- use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose;
- upload or store content that infringes the rights of others;
- interfere with or disrupt the operation of the App;
- attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or access the source code except as permitted by law.
User Content
You may create content in Beacora, including your profile, and activity records. You retain ownership of the content you create, to the extent permitted by law, and you are solely responsible for it. Your content must not violate any law or infringe the rights of others.
Subscriptions & Payments
Beacora may offer optional paid features or subscriptions. If and when offered, the following applies:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of your selected plan.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Any unused portion of a free trial, where offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store's policies.
App Availability and Changes
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Beacora at any time. Some features may change, be limited, or be removed in future versions. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Privacy
Your use of Beacora is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Intellectual Property
Beacora, including its design, branding, text, graphics, and software, is owned by or licensed to us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of Beacora except as allowed by law or with our prior written permission.
Disclaimer
Beacora is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App. Location results depend on your device, operating system, network conditions, and third-party location services. We do not guarantee that location information will always be accurate, timely, or complete, and Beacora should not be relied upon for emergencies or any situation where inaccurate location could lead to harm.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beacora and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of the App. If applicable law does not allow certain limitations, some of the above may not apply to you.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Beacora if:
- you violate these Terms;
- we are required to do so by law;
- continued operation of the App or your access is no longer feasible.
You may stop using Beacora at any time.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Beacora after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
